British Fertility Society Study Week 2025: James speaks on donor conception and embryo transfer

James Lawford Davies was invited to deliver two legal lectures as part of the British Fertility Society’s (BFS) Study Week, held in London this week on 23 and 25 September 2025.
James contributed to two modules within the programme. His first lecture covered the regulatory framework and legal considerations surrounding the use of donor gametes, addressing key compliance issues and areas of legal risk in clinical practice. The second lecture focused on case law relating to embryo transfer and intrauterine insemination (IUI), examining how recent legal developments interact with clinical decision‑making.
BFS Study Week is a flagship educational event for fertility professionals, bringing together clinicians, embryologists and advisers from across the sector for in‑depth training and discussion on clinical, ethical and legal issues in fertility treatment.
